About

Hello! I’m Denise and I am your next favorite plant-based chef. In 2018, I adopted a whole-food, plant-based lifestyle and started cooking everyday. My signature approach to sharing my love of plant-based cuisine is based on curiosity, listening, and connecting.

Within the first few weeks of making the shift to a whole-food, plant-based, no oil (WFPBNO) lifestyle, I noticed a lot of great changes – I was happier, I felt better and slept better, and I became more creative. And I was getting a lot of compliments on how I looked – I guess the happiness and glow showed through.

I loved how I felt and couldn’t get enough so I started reading plant-based nutrition books, articles, and clinical studies. I wanted to understand not just what was changing, but why this way of life could effect such enormous health improvements in such a short period of time. In 2020, I earned my plant-based nutrition certificate from Cornell University so I could expand on and solidify all of what I had learned. The awareness around how I feel when I eat well, combined with this knowledge, has helped keep me engaged and dedicated to a WFPBNO lifestyle.

I started this blog to share my recipes and experience with my family and friends, who are always asking me for recipes and tips. Based on a foundation of a whole-food, plant-based, no oil (WFPBNO) lifestyle, I am now living my best life. I can’t wait to share my expertise and journey and show you how to love the foods that love you back so you can live your best life too.

When I’m not cooking, I am a nonprofit professional, based in Los Angeles. I also love volunteering in my community – whether with the local Neighborhood Council or in the community garden. I welcome you to try some recipes, ask questions about how you can lead a plant-based lifestyle, and engage with this community.
